2. Collection and retention of personal data and the nature and purposes of their use

a) Website access

When accessing our website legallectors.com or legallectors-hamburg.com, your end device uses a browser that automatically sends data to our website server. It temporarily saves the data in a so-called log file. There, the following data is automatically collected, stored, and automatically deleted:

  • the IP address of the querying computer,

  • the time and date of access,

  • the name and URL of the accessed file,

  • the address of the webpage that connects you with our website via a link (referrer URL),

  • the browser and operating system of your device and the name of your access provider.

We process data for the following purposes:

  • to ensure that an uninterrupted connection to the website is set up,

  • to ensure that our website can be accessed and used with ease,

  • to evaluate and analyse system security and stability, and

  • for other administrative purposes.

The legal basis for data processing is point (f) of Article 6(1)(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”). Our legitimate interest in data processing arises from the above-listed purposes of data collection. Under no circumstances do we use the collected data to draw conclusions regarding your identity.

We also use cookies and analysis services, when you visit our website. For more information, please read points 4 and 5 of the Privacy Policy.

b) Using our contact form

Should you have any queries, you can contact us using the form we provide on our website. To send us your question you need to enter a valid email address so that we can see who is the sender of the query and are able to respond. You can enter additional information at your discretion.

The legal basis for data processing for the purpose of contacting us is point/s (a) and/or (b) of Article 6(1)(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation and the consent you must have given freely.

The personal data we collect when you use the contact form is erased automatically as soon as the question you sent us has been answered.

3. Data transmission

Your personal data is not transmitted to any third party for purposes other than those specified below.

We will only transmit your personal data to a third party :

  • if you expressly consented to such transmission (Article 6(1)(1)(a) GDPR),

  • if transmission is necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims (Article 9(1)(1)(f) GDPR) and if there is no reason to consider that you have an overriding interest in the non-transmission of your data that merits special protection,

  • in the event that processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation (Article 6(1)(1)(c) GDPR), and

  • if this is permitted by law and necessary under point (b) of article 6(1)(1) GDPR for the performance of a contract to which you are party.

4. Cookies

We use cookies on our website. Cookies are small files that your browser produces automatically and that are downloaded onto your end device (laptop, tablet, smartphone, etc.) when you visit our website. Cookies do not cause damage on your end device and do not contain any viruses, trojans or any other malware.

The cookie collects information that it generates from the specific end device used. This does not enable us to identify you.

We use cookies to make using our website more convenient for you. For this purpose, we use so-called session cookies that enable us to see whether you already visited any particular pages on our website. This type of cookie is automatically deleted when you leave our website.

To make our website more user-friendly, we also use temporary cookies that are stored on your end device for a certain predetermined period of time. Should you revisit our website to use our services, the cookie will recognise automatically that you have been there before and is able to restore the data you entered, and the settings you chose, so that you do not have to enter them again.

We also use cookies to produce statistical data on how our website is used and to analyse the data to improve the services we offer you (see point 5). These cookies enable us to automatically see that you visited our website before when you make a repeat visit. They are deleted after a predetermined period of time.

The data the cookies process are necessary for the above-stated purposes for the legitimate interests we and third parties pursue (Article 6(1)(1)(f) GDPR).

Most browsers accept cookies automatically. However, you can change the settings of your browser to prevent cookies from being stored on your computer or to ensure that you are informed first every time a new cookie is created. However, if you deactivate cookies you might not be able to use all the functions provided on our website.

5. Analysis tools

a) Tracking tools

We use the tracking tools listed below on the basis of point (f) of Article 6(1)(1) GDPR. We use tracking tools to ensure that our website is designed to best meet your needs and that our website is optimised continuously. We also use tracking tools to produce statistical data on how our website is used and to analyse it to optimise the services we offer to you. These are legitimate interests for the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation.

b) Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to be able to design and optimise our website so that it meets your needs. Google Analytics is a web analysis service provided by Google Inc.(https://www.google.de/intl/de/about/) (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; hereinafter „Google“). It creates anonymised user profiles with the help of cookies (see point 4 below). The data the cookies produce concerning your use of our website, for example

  • the browser type/ version,

  • the operating system used,

  • the referrer URL (the website you visited beforehand),

  • the host name of the computer used for access to our website (IP address),

  • the date and time of the server request,

are transmitted to a Google server in the U.S. and stored there. The data are used to analyse how the website is used, to draw up reports on the activities conducted on the website and to provide other services connected with website and Internet use for market research purposes and to design this website so that we are able to best meet your needs. The data can also be transferred to third parties if required by law or when third parties process the data on our behalf. Under no circumstances will your IP address be combined or merged with other Google data. The IP addresses are anonymised so that the data cannot be attributed to you (IP masking).

You can prevent the installation of cookies by changing the settings of your browser software; however, please note that in that case you might not be able to use all the functions we provide on our website.

You can also prevent the collection and processing of data (incl. your IP address) produced by the cookie relating to your use of the website by

As an alternative to the browser add-on, in particular in the case of browsers on mobile devices, you can also prevent Google Analytics from collecting data by clicking on the following opt-out link:

An opt-out cookie is then installed to prevent your data from being collected on your future visits to our website. The opt-out cookie only works for this browser and only for our website and is stored on your device. If you delete the cookies on this browser you will need to reset the opt-out cookie.

6. Rights of data subjects

You have the right:

  • under Article 15 GDPR to demand information about whether or not we have processed personal data concerning you. In particular you have the right to obtain information about the purposes of processing, the categories of personal data concerned, the recipients or categories of recipient to whom the personal data have been or will be disclosed, the envisaged period for which the personal data will be stored, he existence of the right to request from the controller rectification or erasure of personal data or restriction of processing of personal data concerning the data subject or to object to such processing, where the personal data are not collected from the data subject, any available information as to their source, and the existence of automated decision-making, including profiling and, at least in those cases, meaningful information about the logic involved, as well as the significance and the envisaged consequences of such processing for the data subject;

  • under Article 16 GDPR to demand the rectification of inaccurate personal data concerning you;

  • under Article 17 GDPR to demand the erasure of personal data we have stored concerning you without undue delay, unless processing is necessary for exercising the right of freedom of expression and information, for compliance with a legal obligation which requires processing, for reasons of public interest in the area of public health, or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims;

  • under Article 18 GDPR to obtain from us restriction of processing if you contest the accuracy of your personal data, or if the processing is unlawful and you oppose the erasure of the personal data and demand restriction instead, orif we no longer need the personal data for the purposes of the processing, but you require them for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims, or if you have objected to processing pursuant to Article 21 GDPR;

  • under Article 20 GDPR to receive the personal data concerning you, which you have provided to us, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and to transmit those data to another controller;

  • under Article 7(3) GDPR to withdraw your consent at any time. As a result, we are no longer permitted to continue processing data that was processed on the basis your prior consent, and

  • under Article 77 GDPR to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular of your habitual residence or place of work or our headquarters.

7. Right to object

Where data concerning you are processed on the grounds of legitimate interests under point (f) of Article 6(1)(1) GDPR, you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data on grounds relating to your particular situation or where personal data are processed for direct marketing purposes (Article 21 GDPR). In the latter case you have a general right to object that we will implement without requiring you to specify any particular situation.

8. Data security

To protect your data when you visit our website, we use the standard SSL (Secure Socket Layer) security technology with the highest encryption level your browser supports. Typically, this is 256-bit encryption but if your browser does not support 256-bit encryption, we will instead use 128-bit v3 technology. The symbol of a closed lock or key in the lower status bar of your browser tells you when a particular page of our website is encrypted.

In addition, we use suitable technological and organisational security technology to protect your data against accidental or wilful manipulation, against partial or full loss, against destruction, and against unauthorised third party access. Our security measures are constantly enhanced in line with technological developments.

9. Privacy Policy updates and alterations

The present Privacy Policy, as amended in May 2018, is the current valid version.

Updates and/or alterations of our website and the services offered on it, and/or new statutory and/or official requirements may require alterations of the present Privacy Policy.
